Underachievement
Underachievement
It is a myth that all cognitively gifted students perform well at school.
In reality, some do not. Underachieving students are often a source of frustration—not only for themselves, but also for their teachers. That’s why prevention, early recognition, and effective support are so important.
- How do you motivate underachievers?
- Are you, as a teacher, feeling at a loss when it comes to re-engaging a cognitively gifted student who is underachieving? We’ll guide you through the underachievement process and show you what you can do in the classroom to turn things around.
- You’ll learn how to recognize underachieving gifted students, how to identify and signal this within your school, and most importantly—how to help reverse the pattern.
