Hoogbloeier® was founded on a simple yet powerful belief: gifted children, adolescents, and adults deserve to feel understood and to feel good about their gifted selves.

Through years of research, guidance, and practical experience, it became increasingly clear that many gifted individuals do not receive the support they need. Not because of a lack of good intentions, but because knowledge about giftedness is often fragmented, incomplete, or based on stereotypes.

Parents, teachers, psychologists, and other professionals kept asking the same questions. How do you recognize giftedness? Why do some gifted children underachieve? How do you support gifted adults? And how can we ensure that talent is not lost?

These questions led to the development of Hoogbloeier® into an expertise centre that bridges science and practice.

How do we make a difference?

We make a difference by empowering the people around gifted individuals. We provide professional development for educators and healthcare professionals so they can better recognize, understand, and support giftedness. We also support parents and gifted adults with reliable, evidence-based information and practical tools that help them better understand themselves and the people around them.

In addition, we develop training programmes, publications, educational materials, and other knowledge resources that bridge the gap between science and practice. Through a network of specialized giftedness coaches and experts across Flanders, we also help ensure that gifted children, adolescents, and adults can access the guidance and support they need.

Every parent, teacher, psychologist, coach, or school we reach can, in turn, make a meaningful difference in the life of a gifted child, adolescent, or adult. Together, we create an environment in which talent is not only recognized but also given the opportunity to flourish.
