Identification of giftedness

In our other knowledge modules, we delve into various models of giftedness, but this doesn't address how to recognize gifted individuals. What traits are typical of gifted individuals, and which ones are sometimes present but not definitively linked to giftedness?

• Identifying cognitive high functioning
  Teachers and others may not always spot cognitive giftedness. It's crucial to understand the distinction between learning traits and non-cognitive personal attributes.
• (Non-) indicators of giftedness?
  Non-cognitive traits like perfectionism, perseverance, autonomy, questioning authority, creativity, humor, etc., can vary widely among gifted individuals.
• Diagnosing cognitive giftedness using intelligence tests
  Intelligence tests, which we overview for the Dutch-speaking region, are reliable for identifying giftedness, but there are still critical considerations to address.
