Hello, I am Sigrid, a master in educational sciences and mom of a sweet, creative daughter and an ever-active son.  

After a personal search, I ended up at Hoogbloeier, where I could professionalize myself in the fascinating world of (highly) giftedness. From my background in education and pedagogy, my interest goes strongly to matching pedagogical and educational-didactical methods to the specific needs of (more- and highly-) gifted children. As for any child, we must also look for what can best support them in their development and learning. A cognitively strong functioning child brain, which thinks, experiences, and learns in a slightly different way, often requires a different approach to optimally learn and develop. How can we best guide a child with a cognitive talent and help them grow in their talent and as individuals, just as we do for children with a musical or athletic talent? Well, that's what I like to explore with you!

In my practice, De Vlierbloesem in Outgaarden, I help parents in their search for answers and offer guidance in the field of (multiple and high) giftedness. From the age of 2.5 years, children can come to De Vlierbloesem for comprehensive identification of cognitive (high) giftedness, intelligence testing, coaching, and advice. Mindset training is organized not only individually, but also in the form of "Learning with Guts" group courses. These programs are aimed at children who, even though they (should) be able to keep up at school, are afraid to make mistakes, have little (school) self-confidence, have difficulty with feedback/criticism, avoid challenges, show procrastination behavior, have difficulty persevering,...

I don't like to be in the forefront, I prefer to be busy thinking, investigating things digging in depth, and analyzing. I love to philosophize! At De Vlierbloesem, I organize small-group philosophy workshops aimed specifically at deep-thinkers, curious questioners, and children who want to work on their communication and argumentation skills.

De Vlierbloesem is located in Outgaarden, near Tienen and Hoegaarden and half an hour's drive from Sint-Truiden.
