The presentation of activities and information is structured by several well-known cognitive taxonomies. Bloom’s taxonomy is utilized to inspire creative thinking skills; activities based on the Multiple Intelligences allow students to work from their strenghts; activities based on William’s taxonomy help students develop thinking skills that lead to success in science-related and other fields.
Each unit offers a set of valuable lists as well: ideas for research topics, subjects for creative writing topics, and suggestions for student products and performances. At the end of every unit is a reproducible student activity page that will encourage students to have fun applying their increasing knowledge of science concepts. A practical appendix includes a list of topics that can be assigned or selected for student reports and an annotated bibliography for further exploration of science topics. A comprehensive index makes all subjects easy to find.
Enhance your middle grade science program with these high-interest, skill-strenghtening interdisciplinary units!
